Fort Battad

Director of Tennis

United States Professional Association Elite Professional. USPTA member since 1987. National Junior Champion of the Philippines. After graduating from Oklahoma City University with a business degree, Fort began his career as an assistant tennis professional at Greens Country Club in Oklahoma City. Later, he moved to the Dallas area and worked as a tennis professional at Bent Tree Country Club for six years. He then moved to Oak Cliff Country Club where he was the head tennis professional for 12 years before coming to Garland. Fort has built the tennis program at JCTC from humble beginnings in 2002 to a tennis center bustling with enthusiastic players of all ages.

Becky Pohlen

Tennis Pro

 Attended Junior College on a tennis scholarship and later transferred to University of North Texas, where she played varsity tennis. Becky has continued to play competitive tennis ever since! Becky completed both B.S. and M.S. degrees in physical education at UNT. She taught elementary Physical Education  in Richardson ISD for 25 years and retired in 2020.  Prior to    JCTC,  Becky managed the tennis center at Samuell Grand for several years.  She also taught at Kiest Tennis Center,  Fretz Tennis center, and Eastfield College.

Laurie Hock

Junior's Program Coordinator

Certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association USPTA. Laurie has more than 20 years teaching at Jack Coleman Tennis Center. She is instrumental in growth and development of tennis players at all ages and levels. She brings her experience in coaching and playing many other competitive sports to tennis. Has special interest in youth and beginner tennis.
